   If Wishes Were Horses is by Virginia Vail. Cam Porter wants to join the local horse riding club more than anything,but her only problem is, she doesn't have a horse! When Mr.Barnette offers his neglected horse for three cents, Cam takes the offer, without asking her parents...... Then when she brings it home, she gets in trouble, but gets to keep the horse. Well, she has to raise money to pay the vet bills, has to pay for the horse food, and her parents even have to sell a few dunes on their farm land. Will she get to keep her horse?
